Stuvik takes eleventh win. Vice-championship battle heats up

Barcelona.-RP Motorsport driver managed to achieve another race win in the Euroformula Open, as he took a dominant victory at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Palou (Campos Racing) and Stern (Team West-Tec) were second and third, with Janosz (RP Motorsport) fourth and battle for second place overall will continue tomorrow. Stuvik also wins Spanish F3 championship

Sandy Stuvik´s unstoppable winning streak goes on in the Euroformula Open, as Thailand´s driver has taken another win – seventh in-a-row and eleventh throughout the season- after posting morning´s pole position and setting a new fastest lap in the afternoon. Q1 was closely-fought by Stuvik and Alex Palou (Campos Racing), but the champion was able to defeat his 17-year old rival by a narrow margin.
The race was started at 14.15 and when the lights went out, Stuvik was able to keep Palou, Yarin Stern (Team West-Tec) and Artur Janosz (RP Motorsport) at bay. Janosz, doing his best, passes Palou and Stern, with the Israeli cutting the chicane to avoid any incident. After the first lap Stuvik manages to open up a gap, and Janosz is overtaken by Palou and shortly after by Stern too. Building a three-second lead Stuvik pulls away from the rest of the field and behind Palou and Stern try to equal his pace. Janosz looks slightly less quicker and remains fourth, with Alessio Rovera (Corbetta Competizioni) and Konstantin Tereschenko (Campos Racing) fifth and sixth respectively. On lap four Tereschenko overtook Rovera for fifth but before long he was given a drive-through penalty due to a false start, ruining his chances.
After 17 laps, Stuvik crosses the finish line first, six seconds ahead of Palou, who takes a very rewarding second place at home and . Stern, third for almost the entire race, claims third. Janosz is fourth, and still sits second in the drivers´ championship, but Palou and he are separated by 13 points with just one race left and everything will be decided tomorrow.

Japan´s Yu Kanamaru came 5th in the best-placed car entered by Emilio de Villota
Motorsport. Remarkable sixth place for a debutant, Rovera, with Leonardo Pulcini (DAV
Racing) seventh. Rovera and Pulcini showed real driving talent today and they both are two
rough diamonds with a bright and prosperous future ahead.
Tanar Sathienthirakul (Team West-Tec) finished 8th, and Sean Walkinshaw (Campos Racing)
and Fabian Schiller (Team West-Tec), the German racer making his debut in the series as
well, rounded off the top-ten.
The Spanish F3 Championship was won by Stuvik as well, scoring a total of 106 points after
five races at the Autódromo do Algarve, the Circuito de Jerez and the Circuit de
Barcelona-Catalunya. Palou is second on 78 points and Janosz third on 76 points.
