There was no back flipping for this win, but Carl Edwards did get a New England style victory as he captured over a dozen lobsters today. It was good practice for Edwards as he hopes to hoist Loudon the Lobster in Victory Lane after the SYLVANIA 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 25, a NHMS tradition.
Edwards ate a lunch at a local chowder house known as Geno's, where he entertained questions from local media and some lucky fans before taking to the ocean. Once out on the Atlantic, Edwards helped members of the Portsmouth Lobster Co. open ten traps. He learned to measure and determine a lobsters gender to figure out which ones he could keep and then helped rubber band the lobsters' claws before heading back with his catch.
Edwards was promoting the Sept. 25 SYLVANIA 300 which will serve as the second race in NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup trophy. Tickets are still on sale for the race through NHMS.com
