Sandy Stuvik reigns at Silverstone with double win Thailand´s driver achieved his second win at the weekend in the Euroformula Open and consolidates his championship lead ahead of Palou, second today again. Stern also on the podium

Silverstone.-Sandy Stuvik has won today´s race in the Euroformula Open and the Thai driver increases lead with a double win at Silverstone, as the driver racing under the RP Motorsport banner also claimed a dominant triumph yesterday. In addition set the fastest lap and the pole position – beating Yarin Stern (Team West-Tec) and Alex Palou (Campos Racing), getting two extra points.

Under wet grey skies Race two was started and Stern made a brilliant start to overtake Stuvik, taken by surprise on the pole position. But Stuvik is not a driver to give up easily and did not want to waste the opportunity to win on Sunday too. Even before finishing the very first lap, Stuvik has taken the lead overtaking Stern on the outside who, a few meters later, was also passed by Palou. Stuvik was trying to pull away from Palou but today the driver born in Barcelona was challenging him for the win. Behind Stern was third, ahead of Yu Kanamaru (Emilio de Villota Motorsport) and Artur Janosz (RP Motorsport). Janosz started seventh on the grid but moved up two spots quickly.
Despite the efforts made by Stuvik, Palou was in his shadow for the entire race. The runner-up to Ed Jones last year was keeping him at bay when on lap 15 – the last one-, the Spaniard missed the breaking point and it meant to lose ground and definitively his chances to win. Stuvik claimed another victory and by winning twice on British soil, he leaves the British Isles twenty points ahead of Palou, second at the end of the race. Stern equaled his best weekend so far, Jerez, with another podium finish today, third on the rostrum. Kanamaru was fourth, not far from the podium but he lacked pace to fight with his Israeli rival. Janosz, less brilliant than in previous meetings, finished fifth and is third now in the drivers´ classification.

Andrés Saravia (RP Motorsport) and Tanart Sathienthirakul (Team West-Tec) were sixth and seventh, maybe the Thai expecting something better in the race taking into consideration he was fourth on the starting grid. Konstantin Tereschenko (Campos Racing) and Nicolas Pohler (Team Wes-Tec) were 8th and 9th respectively. John Simonyan (RP Motorsport)brought home 10th, after a sensational battle against Henrique Baptista (DAV Racing) and
Che-One Lim (Emilio de Villota Motorosport).
