During Assad’s latest assault on the region of Homs, the Free Syrian Army was able to stave off advances by Assad forces. Therefore, Assad forces were not able to make any substantial gains in the region. Because of his inability to retake Homs, the Syrian Coalitions warns the international community that Assad may once again deploy chemical weapons on civilians.  

The Syrian Coalition urges the international community and the Friends of Syria to protect civilians and prevent another massacre, like the numerous ones caused by Assad’s previous use of chemical weapons on civilians.
