Islamabad, June 21, IRNA -- Pakistan will elect a new Prime Minister on June 22 following disqualification of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, a leader of majority party said Wednesday.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday disqualified Gilani as Prime Minister in a row over contempt of court.
A leader of the majority Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Khurshid Shah said that nomination papers from the expected candidates will be received on Thursday.
Defense Lawyer of former Prime Minister said that Gilani has accepted the court's verdict and that he does not intend to file appeal against the verdict.
Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan told reporters in Islamabad that he has reservations over the court's verdict
