Islamabad, March 12, IRNA -- At least two people were killed and 17 other wounded in a remote control road side bomb blast in a Pakistani tribal region on Monday, officials said
According to security officials, a passenger van heading to Parachinar tribal region from the northwestern city of Peshawar was hit by an explosive device planted on roadside.
Two people died at the scene and 17 others were injured including 9 women and 4 children, official said.
Rescues operation was immediately started and wounded were shifted to District
HeadQuartera Hospital Parachinar where condition of four inured was reported critical.
Security forces also rushed to the scene to cordon off area for search operation, they said it could be a remote control bomb blast.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Officials say it may be sectarian-motivated attack.
Terrorism activities increased in tribal region and northwest of the country in recent days after security forces resumed military operation against militants in Kurram and Khyber tribal regions.
