Highfield announced as Official RIB Supplier to the Extreme Sailing Series™

Highfield, a specialist in the design and production of aluminium-hulled rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), has been signed as an Official Supplier for the Extreme Sailing Series™, the ultimate Stadium Racing championship.

The reliable RIBs, which are fitted with Honda engines, will provide vital on-water safety support for the sailors as they compete in close-quarters Stadium Racing on highspeed hydro-foiling catamarans, as well as transportation for VIP and media guests.

Julien Carussi, Highfield's Managing Director said: "We are delighted to partner with the Extreme Sailing Series. It is our strategy to associate the Highfield name with the most prestigious sailing events around the world, promoting safe boating and sailing.

"The Extreme Sailing Series will enable us to showcase our expertise in developing and manufacturing heavy duty RIBs, that are capable of hard work, speed and outstanding manoeuvrability," added Carussi, whose company is based in China but has global representation, with presence in over 40 countries.

Extremely hard-wearing, Highfield's high-performance RIBs will easily measure up to the demands of keeping up with the super-fast fleets of GC32s and Flying Phantoms around the racecourse, while also enduring a full-on annual calendar of events that will see them transported by container across three continents for eight Acts.

Extreme Sailing Series Event Director Andy Tourell commented: "At the core of the Extreme Sailing Series is delivering elite level racing for the world's best sailors with safety and sporting integrity paramount to all of our operations. Fundamental to this is securing the best race management resources, including the fleet of support boats required to deliver all aspects of the racing programme.

"We are delighted to welcome Highfield RIBs as an Official Series Supplier, whose range of reliable, powerful RIBs, along with their maintenance and service capabilities, provide the perfect solution for all of our on-water needs.

"It will allow us to deliver robust race management, safety support, and media and guest experience programmes," added Tourell on the partnership, which sees the Extreme Sailing Series become the first major sailing regatta to sign an official RIB supplier for all on-water operations.

With models ranging from 4.6 to 8.6 metres, Highfield offers RIBs that are suitable for a range of boating requirements. More information can be found on the official Highfield website.

Highfield is offering a limited-edition range of Extreme Sailing Series-branded RIBs, available to order immediately. Please contact Brand Development Manager Steve Harrison for more information.

The new RIBs will make an official debut at Act 5, Hamburg, presented by Land Rover, from 10 – 13 August, before the full fleet is launched at Act 6, Cardiff, from 25 – 28 August.
